Learn how to correctly and safely use the throttle, the clutch (very different to a car), both brakes, change gears, steer the motorcycle in straight line and around corners and much, much more.
If you haven't ridden a cycle for a while you will need to refresh your balancing on 2 wheels before attending these lessons.

You will need to complete Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) if:
The CBT is made up of 5 elements:
Novice motorcyclists often need further training for this element and may be on the road for an extended period of time or be required to return on another day.
Your CBT certificate lasts for 2 years from the date of issue.
Our CBT Courses start at 9:00AM and typically finish around 4:00PM (no later than 5:30PM).
You MUST have a good knowledge of the highway code, if your knowledge of the highway code is insufficient we cannot take you onto the public roads.
It is often necessary for a CBT course to take longer than one day if you are a novice motorcyclist, your safety and the safety of others is paramount.
You will need to bring your photo card driving licence. If you have the ‘old’ type licence a valid passport for identification must be produced. If you do not produce your licence you cannot take your CBT.
You will need to be wearing suitable clothing for the time of year. If you have your own motorcycle clothing, helmet, gloves and boots please bring them with you. If you don’t have motorcycle clothing we can provide a helmet, jacket and gloves for you. You must wear jeans as a minimum and over the ankle boots. Jogging trousers and trainers are NOT permitted. Please note for your own safety you will not be allowed to train with us without wearing full motorcycle clothing. Waterproofs are available if required.
DMS provides a comprehensive motorbike education, ensuring you're safe on the road and ready for the test.
To obtain your motorbike license there are two practical tests that must be passed. They are:
Before you can take your practical tests you must first take and pass the Motorbike Theory Test. This can be booked online www.gov.uk/book-theory-test or you can call 0300 200 1122
You can start your training for the practical tests but will not be allowed to take module 1 or 2 tests until your theory test has been passed. You must also have a current CBT certificate which we can also train you for and provide.
Motorbike licences can be confusing - for more information on which licence you can obtain check out the official government website.
